Developing a Company Profile

In the executive search process developing a company profile involves strategic discussions and a diagnostic assessment

When you want to hire a new executive I believe you need to identify where you have been as a company, where you are now, and where you want the company to go with the new executive.

developing-a-company-profileFor that reason, when I develop a company profile I structure the executive search process to strategically identify your company’s strengths, opportunities, aspirations, and results (SOAR) so that the executive search process is efficient and in alignment with your company objectives.  I pursue this stratetic discussion through a series of discussions that examine the core business functions in your company. With you, I will look at the core dimensions of your company, as outlined below. These discussions help to inform us to the strategic challenges you want your new executive to address upon their employment with your company.

In addition to these discussions, when developing a company profile I also employee the Innermetrix Organizational Health Checkup (OHC), a business diagnostic tool developed by Jay Niblick, the Founder and CEO of Innermetrix, to help executives assess levels of overall performance in their organization. This proprietary tool provides a controlled, accurate and effective way of measuring performance in the core dimensions of business success. This holistic approach to understanding your business serves as the first step in identifying areas that require further investigation and development to achieve superior performance organization-wide and to provide a road map for you and the new executive to follow.

The OHC often serves as the first step in helping us to determine where energy needs to be focused, where the greatest potential for business improvements lie, and where additional business diagnostics may be required to uncover and correct existing issues as we develop a company profile that we can use in the executive search process.

The OHC assessment measures 11 core business dimensions that drive performance and profitability.  The 11 core business dimensions that drive performance and profitability are:

  1. Personal – how do the individuals in your organization feel?
  2. Employee Alignment – is everyone driving for results and profits?
  3. Personnel – how effectively do you lead people?
  4. Team Effectiveness – how strong are your teams?
  5. Leadership – how trusted and inspiring is your leadership?
  6. Strategy & Planning – how comprehensive and secure is your strategy?
  7. Customer Service – how loyal are your customers?
  8. Sales & Marketing – does your pitch resonate and do your people sell?
  9. Operations – do you run efficient and quality operations?
  10. Cultural – how cohesive and beneficial is your culture?
  11. Management – how effectively do you manage things?

When you are developing a company profile you are able to improve your company’s ability to conduct a more effective executive search.
