Deputy Director of Public Works Facilities

The Town of Nantucket, Massachusetts has an immediate opening for the position of Deputy Director of Public Works Facilities. Salary is commensurate with experience, residency required. The Town of Nantucket is an island of pristine beauty 14 miles long and 3.5 miles wide, 30 miles out to sea, off the south coast of Cape Cod.

The Deputy Director of Public Works Facilities collaborates with the DPW Director to administer, coordinate, review, and evaluate day to day operations of the facilities division and long-term facilities projects and systems assigned to the department. The Deputy Director provides administrative management support to the Director and oversight of all facilities division responsibilities in accordance with local Bylaws and MA General Laws.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in planning, architecture, civil engineering, business, public administration, environmental management or a related field; minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a position requiring management/supervisory responsibility within public works. The candidate must have a valid Class D Motor Vehicle Operator’s License. Massachusetts registration as a Professional Engineer Architect, or Certified Planner is preferred.
